OK, this post is obviously long overdue....Long story short: Busy as hell; harvesting urine for future consumption; revenge on world later. But definitely more posts on the horizon. Enjoy!

Gurls Again!!??!
God I need a girlfriend (or not). Perhaps I should try using this blog as a means to dating. Because, as we all know, my audience on here is comprised mostly of the female gender.....BUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I enjoy [short] romantic walks on the beach, cuddling by the fire place, oh, and SMASHING MY FOES TO PIECES, WITH BUT A THOUGHT!!!! If you look like any of the following pics, send your 5x7 pictures and profiles to "The Date A Tal Foundation"....
Started with a copy of a Presing original.
Obviously NOT, a Presing original, hahaha.
And I say this all the time and then never follow through, but I may color this one.

Klassic Korner 3 (I think)
Hey so it's been a while since my last installment of Klassic Korner.....And I just couldn't resist this gem from days past.
I watched "a classic" the other day and I immediately searched for a comic I had created for Forkan's "Cartooning" class, from about 5-6 years ago......Forkan obviously had nothing but praise for it, hahahahaha. Do note the amazingly realistic, Torgo vibrating action. Enjoy!
One word: BUWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Los Azules
Heeeeeeey, so Mexico was fun. The place we stayed at was insane! I'll try and post the pics as soon as I download 'em.
Anywho, I'm still a little behind on the posting, so here are some more sketches. I've started to gain some reference for my comic in terms of blues musicians. Been looking at some of my favorites to include within the pages of my masterpiece.
Johnny Winter
John Lee Hooker....By far the most difficult to draw out of the blues men I've chosen.
Willie Dixon heads....Weird because he seemed to have a different look in every image I've looked upon.
And this seems to be tradition, to have the oddest sketches at the end. It was supposed to be me originally but something went terribly, terribly wrong. Didn't really stop me from seeing it through though, haha. I may try and paint this one.

Muchas dibujos!
Oh man it's been a while since I've posted some sketches! Slightly behind here, so I'm just going to start posting a barrage of images. I have in my possession, even more, but those will have to wait until I GET BACK FROM MEXICO!! That's no joke.....Going for the weekend!
Some of the last sketches from my life drawing class. A couple of warm ups:
Girls!!! I noticed that since I've posted last, I've drawn quite a few.
Aaaaaand, your guess is as good as mine!
Los gatos estan en la biblioteca! That means: "have a great weekend everyone!"

Da HELL with THIS!
OK, so while Sal laughs hysterically from the title I'll discuss a certain trip I just took for the hell of it. I went to Mammoth Mountain with my older brother for the first time and I must say it was a lot more fun than I thought it'd be.
Went fishin', played some high altitude tennis (I was dying by the 3rd point). and just plain, relaxed for the most part. I also went snowboarding for the first time in my life and I honestly don't think I was that bad...I guess the whole "knowing how to surf" thing helped on that one. Still funny to watch it though:
Benny Hill really does make everything funnier
And some pics:
My facial expression suggests that my older brother had just insulted me.
It's about 95 degrees here in this pic........Yeah.
Just an excuse to get an ass shot in there.

12 Bars Teaser!
Alright, finally have something for you guys more exciting than my inability to draw from life. For those who don't know, I've been working on a short comic over the last few months. It is part of an anthology hopefully due out by the end of the summer. And although we decided to keep much of the project to vagueness, I've created a teaser for my comic in this anthology.
As the post title suggests, my comic is called 12 Bars. And to be clear, the panels in this teaser are not final; they just reflect the panels as they currently appear in the blocking phase. Hopefully it makes sense....Enjoy!
Yes, that is me on the voice over....No, I'm not a large, southern, black man.

Becoming a Professional Nude....Drawer.....Uhhh, Guy.
More Life Drawing!!! It seems like I either work on my comic or draw naked people these days. Ahhhh, what a life.
This one was a first for me. We toned the paper ourselves using a combination of acrylic paint and gesso. I believe the technical art names of the paint I used were "Red" and "Green". Anyways it actually worked better than I expected. Nothing penetrates the paper so the medium can be moved around very easily, plus you can erase your ass off and never damage the paper. Like drawing on plastic. Cool effect too.
My teacher's exact words: "Oh, ok, lookin' good; nice detail on the boobagery. Uh-huh, good. Yeah, really nice work Ta.....Ahhh, what the fuck happened to her hand!!?! Jesus H. Christ, THERE IS NO GOD!!"

Sun Beaten and Left for Dead
Alrighty, I've just recovered from a sunstroke I endured since last Thursday!! Haven't really been drawing a whole lot, what with the inability of my body to control it's own core temperature and all. So before I was so casually raped by the sun, I decided to get some leg and feet sketches down. Legs and feet are just so weird to draw. Plus I finally scanned a long pose from my life drawing class...

Mistaken for an escaped Silverback.....again.
Aaaaaand a half month later I finally post something new. Have I mentioned that I'm a compulsive liar amongst other things (megalomaniac, narcissist, stunningly handsome; the list goes on and on people).
I should note that the roughs for my comic are complete (at least for now) and as soon as I get some final pencils, I'll have maybe 1/20th of a panel up on the blog!! That's the side of a building or somebody's hand!!!! You don't want to miss that.
So on to the art work. Went to the Santa Ana Zoo not long ago and got some sorely needed (obviously) animal drawing in.
Ewww, probably should have started with horses to warm 'em up.
Ok, this was destined to be my greatest horse drawing ever...And then the horse FUCKING MOVED!!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL FOUL MOVING HORSE DEMON!!

Life Drawing
The last month or so has been pretty busy for me. I've been working on a comic hopefully due out this summer which has taken up quite a bit of time. I'm also taking a life drawing class at El Camino College amongst other devious things. But that's no excuse for not posting. NOTHING IS!!
Anyways I'll start posting a little more now so expect another post soon. In the meantime, here are some ink washes from my life drawing class.

"Bad Ass" animation, jahv turkeys!
Hey so I've recently messed around with Flash CS4 and decided to do two things I haven't done for a while. 1) Post (or animate) an animation test and 2) Post this character near and dear to all our hearts. Ladies and gentle men, I give you the ever lovable, ever insightful, Bad Ass Man.

How To Start Your Sketchbook On A Positive
I really liked the challenge of trying to draw Yeagle's work so I decided to do a couple more pages.
I thought the animals came out much better than his girls. And specifically, i kept having an issue concerning the construction of their faces. All the features kept coming out off, EVEN WHEN I TRIED TO TRACE ONE (left, second one from the bottom)!!! Definitely more to come in the future.
And now for some random sketches:
Just call me.....SLING BLADES (uhhh, no relation to Karl Childers)!!!
And lastly and definitely least, here's a sketch of an (new) old buddy. That was supposed to be his tongue sticking out, but instead looks like a condom. So as an honorable artist, always seeking perfection, I of course............kept it in. I just assumed he loves the taste (who doesn't, right?).

How To End Your Sketchbook on a Positive
As I've been nearing the end of my sketchbook, I figured that the best way to mark its conclusion would be with the awesome work of others. And surprisingly I never really went back and touched all that stuff I bought at CTN so I figured it'd be a good start (or fitting end?). So here's some work copied from a couple favorites, Dean Yeagle and Bill Presing (whom are linked to the right along with all my others)!
So starting out with Yeagle was somewhat difficult considering his characters/girls are a hell of a lot more technical than my own. But I do enjoy the challenge. I noticed that the faces in particular had to be extremely precise in their arrangement or else they looked like awful crap. All from his second sketchbook.
The slightest millimeter (or in my case, foot) of a line off and you've got horrid hellish garbage!
Presing's simplicity suits me a little better considering I've drawn his work since school. I noticed a wider head than I'm used to on most of his girls which gave me a little trouble. All these were drawn from "Book Plate Betties".
This is an awesome book for many reasons. My favorite being that he keeps his rough construction, and yes, even erased limbs within his final product! Another great thing about his book is the surprising variety in body shapes he gets while still maintaining simplicity.

Kaloapo'opo Lai'i Everyone!
Ok, so as promised, here are some pics from my trip to Hawaii. Now unfortunately my brother lost the usb cable for his camera so these pics are ones taken by his girlfriend, with her camera, while I wasn't there. So here I gloat, about the vacation of others...When I find another usb cable I'll post the other pics.
Ahhhh, much better than crappy art work.
The surf got huuuuuge...
...and really nasty!
And there you have it! Hopefully more pics to come.
And for those trying to decipher the post title, don't bother.
